Windows XP Home and Bandwidth

Greetings all.

My first post here, and I'm a new member, so go easy on me! I've tried searching through the forums, Newsgroups, and the web through Google to get more clarification on the Theft of 20 percent of bandwidth issue.

I've read the Register article, and his phrasing confuses me. In particular as to how the tweak doesn't apply to XP home. Does this mean that QoS is still dedicating some bandwidth in Home, and the tweak simply doesn't work, OR does it mean that there is NO loss of bandwidth in XP Home, because there is no QoS in the package?

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated, as I have a copy of Home on it's way now... Wondering whether I should have bought Pro instead.

Thanks for your time.

Welcome to the Forums...you'll find a lot of nice people to help you out here. TweakXP has a short summary on the bandwith reserve. I'm not sure if it's the same stuff that you've been reading elsewhere, but it might help. It also shows how you can disable it in XP. Hope this helps.
