Windows XP help..

I have a new machine with Windows XP. At every boot, Windows XP shows a Explorer window. I close the window and use the computer normally. This does not affect the computer. It works fine. My question is, how can I keep this Explorer window (it's just showing the contents of my Norton folder) for opening up at every start-up? There is nothing in the start up group. I don't know why this window appears all of the time? Thanks.

Never mind. I got it. I just deleted the directory that kept opening up on every boot. Thanks.

😀

There must be a more elegant way of solving that problem. I don't know of one 🙂, but anyone else can help here?

There IS a more elegant way... I just sort of forgot exactly what it was ... since I'm on my Win98 system, I can't exactly tell the details, but I think its like this:

Open Explorer or My Computer, go to View, Folder Options, then the View tab. There should be an option "Restore folder/windows at logon" .. or something like that of the sort ...
or I could be mistaken and its at another location, but if that option is unchecked, XP won't load any folders on startup ...
