Windows XP Folder Views

Hi guys.

Yesterday i decided to change my START menu style from the CLASSIC style that i've been using since forever, to the XP style (the expanded width one).

Since changing, ive noticed that when i open up the MY COMPUTER window, the system sometimes takes ages to bring up all my HDDs/folders etc... the torch just wiggles about for ages. Then, if im also browsing through other folders, the same thing happens sometimes.

The START MENU itself behaves very odd >>> when i move folders/icons about in it to rearrange their order, they are not moved instantly but take some time - all the while the rest of the system seems to slow down a bit and become a lil unresponsive.

As soon as i switch back to the classic menu, its no longer happening.

Any ideas as to whats going on here?

Thanks.

when you right click on deskotp and go to ex"arrange icons by" what hapens you get the menu instantly or it takes like 5 10 sec?
