Windows XP burning utility

Is there a way to change where windows xp stores files that are waiting to be written to a cd? For example, if I select a group of data files, right click, send to CDRW --> where are these files stored? I'm asking because I have partitioned my hard drive such that XP is on a small partition (3 GB) and when I tried writing ~500 MB of files to a CD using the XP utility I got errors saying that C: was low on disk space. I figure the problem is that the files waited to be burnt to cd were being stored on C: - so, I'd like to change it to another partition of possible.

Thanks for any tips!
