ok....gotta dual boot setup that i just setup......2k and xp......the reason for this setup are irrelevant to the topic so please don't start with the "why have this type of dual boot setup comments"....i have three partitions on a 80gb hard drive (5gb,5gb, and 70gb).....on the first i installed(first) 2k....it is up and running fine as i am typing this thread on it as we speak.....the third is all of my programs and files and stuff.....the second, is where i tried installing winxp pro.....i get all the way through the installation process and when it goes to restart and startup for the first time, i get a BSOD...stop error 0x0000007E (........)the error gives no comment as to what the problem was it just says this an error was found and was stopped so to not harm my system......it will boot into safe mode unless i try safe mode with networking which results in the same blue screen.....i tried the ol cold boot thing to no avail.....i have tried running repair as well as formatting and reinstalled three different times to no avail........my setup is as follows
athlon xp 1700
abit kd7
256mb crucial ddr 2100
antec 300w
WD 80gb
gainward geforce 4 ti4200
50x cdrom
yamaha 2200 CDRW
pci usb card
two usb hubs with a couple of mice, a printer, and an ati tv-usb
this system is hooked to a belkin omniport 4 port KVM switch
i think that's about it
any help is much appreciated as this is really starting to frustrate me
thnx in advance
