Hey you guys. I recently transferred the innards of my pc to another case and now I'm having trouble getting to the desktop. I've tried re-installing XP Pro but after the initial phase, after the PC restarts, I'll get the screen that says "Set up will now continue", then I'll get this 800x600 resolution screen with an aqua background with just the mouse pointer. I can move the mouse around the screen, but that's pretty much it. I've even tried doing a fresh install and still get the same thing.

I had added a new 1GB stick of Geil RAM and thought maybe that was it, but when I tried doing everything after I removed it, I still got the same result. I even reformatted one of my free partitions and tried doing a fresh install there but I still end up at the aqua background. It's like it's overriding the Windows installation for some reason.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, really desperate here. I tried a couple of more things over the weekend. I have 2 IDE and 1 SATA HD. I tried installing XP on the SATA one but all it would do is go over the initial phase of the installation everytime it restarted. When I would remove the CD, it would then just restart over and over or say "Disk Error". Even after I had reformatted it. Tried it again after disconnecting the 2 IDEs and still the same. Tried re-installing on one of the IDEs while the other one was disconnected and I'm back to the aqua screen of non-activity. Tried all of that with and without the new RAM stick.

Anybody?
