Windows XP Audigy Problem

Here's the deal.

I install WinXP Clean then install software and drivers from the CD. After restart the Audigy appears in my device manager showing no conflicts and working properly BUT it's not recognized in the Audio HQ, instead it uses Emu10kx Audio!!!! I dont hear the rear 2 speakers in the speaker test from my klipsch 5.1's... Sound is also distorted... My onboard audio is disabled in the BIOS! It makes no sense, I cant even d/l and install the updated drivers from web because it doesn't find an installed audigy. My card worked before, this is a sudden problem. HELP!

AMD XP2000+
WD 100GB SE 8meg HD

my 2 latest upgrades...

I had the same problem... Then I tried my audigy in other computers, no go. In XP, you may notice that the firewire installed fine, but the 1394 net adapter doesn't. Anyways, on a hunch, I got a new Audigy card today, and it turns out my old one was was defective. With the new Audigy, everything worked great. Nothing like a virtual RMA through best buy 🙂
