I just installed Windows XP Home (from Windows 98SE) and now cannot run any movie loops that require JAVA. Is there a patch that I am missing? Thanks

Microsoft have stopped including the Virtual Java Machine (?) which was included with all over versions of IE. this means that you cannot open any java applets or java dependent apps. You can try downloading the java from Sun.com. It is slower and more sluggish (IMO) than the Microsoft one, but it works all the same.

Still no luck after installing java. Can't run loops (in this case a NWS radar loop which says I must change the settings in Windows which I tried to no avail). Any suggestions? Thanks

There are some Java apps that still won't run even after you re-install and patch it. The strange thing is that my Dell at work runs all of them. Must be some kind of OEM hacked Java version that they installed. The other alternative is to install the Sun runtime and put up with the systray icon.
