Windows XP and installing Programs on Multiuser system

Im going to be installing Windows XP on the family machine, after some more ram is added in a couple weeks.

My question is since I use the machine as well, can I set it to where users have their own Start Menu stuff.

Say my mom installs Greeting Card stuff on her account, make it to where it want show up on my account in the Start Menu when I login.

Some installs I would like to be shown on all accounts though, like Office.

XP will automatically create a whole new start menu, desktop, e-mail settings and more. I use it for 4 users on my wifes PC, (Don't share mine) and its great.

The only things that will be common are the items listed under all users in the root drive under desktop users settings folder. That isn't the exact name but I am currently on a NIX box with no access to a win machine.

XP will actually use wizards and walk you thru setting up a multi user machine with seperate login's and everything...

\Documents and Settings
=>Administrator
=>Default User
=>All Users
=>User1's name
...
=>User#'s name

Each on of those sub-directories will have a \Start Menu directory. Everyone will see what's in the \All Users\Start Menu on their own menu. To customize an individual's menu, play in \Username\Start Menu.

Needless to say, it is easier to add on program to one user than it is to hide one program from only one user.

Same thing applies to Win2K. WinNT4 does the same, but the top directory is \Winnt\Profiles.
