Windows XP - Activation / Tranfering question

Am I right in thinking it's not possible to transfer an OEM copy of Windows XP Home to another machine?

I also wondered. If I had a OEM copy of windows ME and upgraded to XP via a retail upgrade, is it possible to transfer for this copy to another machine?

Before moving an Operating system to another machine I would always reformat. I also read somewhere that it's possible if I do reformat?

I've so fed up and sick of buying copies of windows. I think I now have about 6 XP licenses, I really do not want to buy another. What can I do?

If you have a retail copy you can transfer it to any machine. Usually OEM is sold with the purchase of a PC part. As long as that part remains in the PC you are fine.
