Windows xo 64-bit Beta Version

I've recently bought a msi k8n neo platinum motherboard and I've been offered a free copy of the OS. should I get the OS or is it a bad idea to try?

Which OS is it. I have the new Windows Longhorn Build 4074, it's a beta version that only gives you a 180 day trial. Is this the same OS you have???

I think it is a public beta, because I did download XP-64 build 3790 w/ SP1 about six months ago and burnt it onto a CD. Never used it, never bothered to install it. There was just no software for it.

I think it's better now. ATI and nVidia have probably released beta 64-bit drivers. It's posted in some thread here.

EDIT: Longhorn? We're talking about WinXP-64 bit. Unless the two OSs are unde rconcurrent development (which I dont think is).

I know that Longhorn is the code name for the OS they are creating geared towards 64 bit processors. It supposed to be released in 2006...

2006? That early?

WinXP-64 bit is much, much different from Longhorn. While Longhorn is an entirely new generation of Windows, XP-64 is simply XP-32 we have right now but in 64 bit.
