windows wont install my NEC 3500A properly

It comes up with the new hardware wizard but when it looks for the software it says it can't find anything, and the installation fails.

However the drive shows up in the device manager, just not in My Computer, and not in any burning software.

Tried the jumper on CS and Master, no joy.

Any ideas? It's an nForce2 mobo if that makes a difference.
 
Right-click My Computer and click Manage. Look for Disk Management and see what it can tell you. You might need to assign a drive letter.
