Windows will not load

Ok, I try to boot up my PC, and it says that windows can not start becasue a file is missing or corrupt.

It says the file is Windows\System32\config\system.

It then says to put in the windows CD, and hit "R" to repair. I did this, but then it brings me into DOS, and I have no idea how to get around DOS, so I'm completley lost.

Help please.

If this happened up outa nowhere, Id download the diagnostic utility for your harddrive from the manufacturer's website and make sure that drive is good.
