Just built my NAS server and I would really like to install something that will monitor the temps of all of the HDDs, displaying it on the desktop. I tried Argos and HDD Temp 4.0 and they put the temps in the Service Tray, but I want something slightly less subtle that pops up along the side or top of the screen that is a bit larger. I can leave HDD Temp up and running but it's reporting is a bit more obtrusive than I would like.
What does everyone use for this? If there's something out there that would send an e-mail when a HDD hits a certain temp and shuts the system down if it gets even higher, that would be great. I don't really need/want anything that controls fan speeds or anything more than what I just mentioned.
