I have an old computer I use at work with a Micronics motherboard with integrated Vibra16X. I can play the windows wav's like ding, startup, etc, but I can't play MP3's or MP3's converted to Wav's. Window's Media Player will try to download a filter when I try to play a music wav, but says it cannot find the proper type.

I am running NT4 SP6 and the Soundblaster 1.x, 16, Pro driver.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have tried it. Winamp and window media player behave the same way except media player will try to find a method to make the wav work.

This motherboard is the W6Li by Micronics...It was used by Micron too, however all their driver's pages refer me to the generic driver page at Creative.

had to deactivate 16bit sound...now all is well. Must be a DMA conflict of some sort, though nothing is mapped to the DMA's it uses (5,6, or 7).
