Morrowind with all expansion packs(ie Game of the year edition) runs fine in Vista x64(expansion packs has all the latest patch fixes so no new updates),I even tried a few house mod plug-ins ,works ok too.

UFO-Afterlight(new game) runs fine if you select XP SP2 compatibility mode for Vista x64.

Vanguard run fine too (tested on Vista x64).

Also check my thread here ,has link to over 25 popular games tested in Vista.

it works very well on my RIG though, mine has Vista RTM 32 bit version on it. i have had no problems until now. RTCW and MaxPayne 2 are the games which i have been playing with no probs whatsoever 🙂

I'm running an ATI x800xt AGP card--wonder if it's an ATI vs. nvidia issue? I've tried several reinstalls, using xp compatibility mode, etc. The game starts, can see a grey splash screen and then back to the desktop--doesn't matter wheter I have the disk in or not.

I'm running FarCry 32-bit patched to 1.33 in vista ultimate 64 on A Core2/P5B-deluxe/8800GTS system.

Game runs flawlessly except for one major problem...the game hangs when trying to load levels. Anyone have any ideas?

Why would you run the 32bit Far Cry when you have Vista 64?

Tomb Raider Legend works with no issues on Ultimate x86. I'm actually surprised by how well it runs; with standard (non-"next gen") settings, I often maintain 60fps at 1680x1050 on a 9700 Pro :Q

Edit: This is with the 1.2 patch for the game. It also shows up correctly in the Games explorer.

I have the 64-bit packages for farcry and played around with them for a bit... I honestly did not notice much difference.

Supposedly, HDR support is better in 32 bit farcry with the 1.33 or 1.4 patch.

I did find a solution to my problem...I enabled cheats and skipped past the "Fort" map... the next map loaded just fine so I think it is some problem specific to the map but possibly just my system/game-install.

It looks great with HDR enabled.

-It appears that if you delete the "intro.avi" video and put a text file in its place (rename the text file to "intro.avi"), the game will work.

I know Quake 3 w/ PB crashes on XP if DEP is enabled. RTCW (based on Q3 engine) may also have DEP problems if Vista enables it, so just a heads up.

I have an E6600+8800GTS w/ 2GB of RAM and Company of Heroes runs flawlessly on max settings at 1680x1050 in XP, but performance is probably cut in half on Vista Home Premium 32-bit. Maybe it's the crappy 8800-series driver for Vista, but it's pretty painful. Anyone have a similar setup?

I have just installed Starcaft and the expansion pack "brood war" ,it seems to be working ok,played it for awhile on my Vista x64.

Btw I have latest patch for above.

I installed and began playing Titan Quest and it was solid -no issues. About 1/2 through the first act, it crashed to desktop. I rebooted and tried it again (3 more times) and it crashed again and again in the exact same spot. This bummed me out because I was really looking forward to playing this game. 🙁

This is the latest version of the game for which I'm too lazy to google the version number. 😛

Crap, I totally forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder.

I have just installed KOTOR(first one) and it plays fine in Vista x64,all I did was install latest update to the game before playing it,did not even have to select XP SP2 compatibility mode.

KOTOR 2 has problems with Vista, basically you can only get it to run with sound disabled in options of the game, this has been reported by many players/members at the official Lucas Arts KOTOR 2 forums,if I find a fix to the sound problem I'll let you know.

Titan Quest works great in Vista 32 for me without xp compatability mode.....I have been playing this game for some time now. It is a great game. On the order of Diablo II....But, I feel it is better.

You can also add Baldur's Gate DVD collection(4 in 1 box set) to the Vista x64 list, works fine.

Note: Box set includes Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword coast expansion pack,Baldur's Gate 2 and Throne of Baal expansion pack.

Anyone playing any of the Warhammer RTS's on Vista? I was thinking of picking up Dark Crusade, but I'm moving to Vista in a few weeks and want to be sure WHDC will work ok on Vista.

Update on KOTOR 2,if you click the KOTOR 2 exe.file or keep trying to run the game it will eventually load and play with sound, success rate is like 25 to 1,it normally will just crash but be patient and keep trying,I got it to run and played it for about 2 hours in the game.

The hard bit will be trying to get it to run again, but so far I have got it to play with sound about 4 times tonight so its possible if you are patient.

UPDATE PART 2: It seems a few owners can play KOTOR 2 with no problems while others have problems,no real pattern at the moment ,but I keep looking into this one.

I'm new here, but since this doesn't appear to be resolved on this thread I thought I'd chip in anyway.

I managed to resolve this problem on my system (Athlon 64 X2 3800+, Asus A8N-SLI Premium, GF 8800GTS/320 MB, Vista Ultimate 64-bit) by replacing the DLL running the Miles sound system with a New, Improved (TM) version. Now it starts up every time and appears to run completely stable, sound and all, in WinXP SP2 compatibility mode.

Specifically, I replaced Mss32.dll in the KOTOR2 program directory with the one you can download here: [ http://files.filefront.com/Mss32dll/;6695046;;/fileinfo.html ].

More information and other things to try here: [ http://forums.team-gizka.org/viewtopic.php?t=2098 ]. I didn't need to do the uninstall/re-install dance, but YMMV, make backups, always wear protection, and don't blame me if it all goes horribly wrong.
