I have an external hard drive that will not work properly with Windows Vista. When I first connected it Vista took about 5 minutes installing the driver and then gave me a BSOD. This external hard drive works in all my xp machines and never have had a problem with it before. Also USB flash drives work fine but not this external hard drive. Any ideas?

You should not need to install a driver for a USB external HDD in Vista. Have you tried different USB ports? Is the external HDD self-powered?
