thanks for that neowin link, the slashdot link isn't working for me.

The screenies look...different. All that matters is usability when it comes out though

Office 12 looks like a ripoff of the Mac UI. They have really gone overboard with this one.

Is this the first time you realized that the creative team for Microsoft basically just uses a Mac to come up with the next generation of UI and features?

LOL that Office 12 is the worst mac rip off ever. Vista might grow on me, but the toolbars suck.

Dumbest statement ever! You do know that Microsoft makes Office for Mac, right? I mean, c'mon, how can they rip off a product they make?

I meant everything mac osx like in general. those office 12 screens dont' look to similar to office mac, but the ui, windows, buttons, everything is pretty much a mac hose.

I don't understand why people here have this desire to upgrade when they very well know that there is nothing in vista that they need. It's practically XP all over agian, seriously, you guys know it's resource hogging and know you'll need more ram just for games to be playable and yet you continue on and on about how you'll get used to it, WTF. Just don't buy it, do you have to have the latest and crappiest software out there? Nothing wrong with old software you know except that little tag saying "old".

Whats the statement I am looking for :

The newer the better.

There is another statement that I am looking for that I cannot remember.

It's not bad, it's different. And 5 years from now, we'll all be wondering how we lived with Office 2003. The new GUI is a better interface, you just don't know it yt. Think back to DOS and I think you would have to agree.

It's evolution...

Sometimes, some people just hate change.

WHAT IN THE NAME OF FSCK DID THEY DO TO THE USER INTERFACE? I DON'T NEED ENORMOUS BUTTONS. I'M NOT BLIND AND I CAN USE THE DAMNED MOUSE. I NEED LOTS OF BUTTONS BECAUSE I DO LOTS OF THINGS.

Actually, to be honest, all I need is the damned menu bar. Take away all those buttons, please. I don't use them. Just give me my font controls.

No crap, the buttons are huge. Whats up with that?

It's a OS X Clone, a bad OS X clone. You think Microsoft could at least do a good job of copying OS X.

Yeah, it looks like a bastard love child of OS X and Windows XP. It's still Beta, though, so they have LOTS of time to fix it.
