When I go to the windows update page, I get this message, "Thank you for your interest in
Windows Update Your organization has decided to provide software updates internally rather than through Windows Update. To download updates for your Windows computer, please see your network administrator."
This is a home system not connected to a network aother than roadrunner. I'm using IE5.5 and 98se...anyone else see this or a fix? i searched the MS knowledge base, but either nothing is there or I didn't use the right search criteria.
Regards,
dave

Are you the legit owner of the software?

Also, did you load the sofware/OS yourself, or from an image-file?

bikman,

Don't have a solution, but I have a coincidental problem using Windows update. I used to update fine all of a sudden since Fri (11/10/00) I've been getting a message saying "need to install Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting", it asks me to download and when I click download, it gives error to try again? ANYONE out there have solutions to these problems? THANKS!

1)Yes I am the legit owner of 98SE.
2)And yes now that you mentioned it I did restore the OS using an image file created by Ghost (also purchased legit). Totally forgot about dat. This is the cause huh?
regards,
Dave
