It seems i can manualy download most updates for service pack one, but if I try using windows update they fail... I downloaded qfecheck.exe and ran it with saved log file, but I am unsure of how to go about correcting the problem. I read that if I uninstall updates in the wrong order I could make windows become completely unstable or unusable. Thanks for any assistance.

This is qfecheck log.

I figured out answer to this myself. Have to manually download every bad patch and run the hotfix file and reboot after each time, then rerun qfecheck.exe to verify the patch is succesful.

If you happen by and read this I sincerly URGE you to go to microsoftupdates and download the qfecheck.exe . I had thought my laptop fully patched except for service pack 2. I had gotten a virus which I was able to get removed, the details to that are in another thread. I decided to check for new updates and was unable to install any of them. I downloaded the qfecheck and found out that about 85% of the patches I had installed, and forgot about, figureing they where installed properly where not. So my system was far more vulnerable than I had thought.

Thank you for reading through this, I hope my experience will prove valuable information to others.
