Windows software for a smart mirror?

I'm building a smart mirror, and using an old Surface Pro 1 for the machine and display.

The only thing I'm seeing that might be usable for this is Rain Meter, but I was kinda hoping someone came up with a quick and easy tool instead.

Requirements:

• Large time display (duh)
• Weather
• Google Calendar events for the day

That's it. Anybody have any recommendations other than Rain Meter that I should check out?

Be aware that high humidity areas (like the steam from a shower) can be bad news for electronic devices that are not specifically designed for that environment.

i built a smart mirror too. if you have a web server, just put all the files needed there. then point the web browser to that address.

so raspberry pi has the files locally to pull in weather, calendar, and news. or you can put the files on a server

Right now, I'm playing with different mirror films to maintain touchscreen capabilities. I have a Gen 1 Surface Pro, and a Gen 3 to play with. A SurfaceBook too, but that isn't going into the mirror...

I also have a sheet of acrylic 2-way mirror. I like the look of that better, but maintaining the touchscreen does have some appeal to me.
