WINDOWS SHUTDOWN PROBLEM

For some reason whenever I shutdown in Windows 98 it always restarts.
I never had this problem before until moved the comp back home.
If I click on SHUTDOWN it restarts, and if I choose RESTART it restarts.
So I can't shutdown unless I do it manually.

Anyone have an idea as to what's up?

thx.

Hi, did you try what I asked you to do yesterday which was:

Go Start>Run then type msconfig.

Then go General>Advanced and see if the "Disable Fast Shutdown" box is ticked. If it's not, tick it and see if this helps.

It may not be the right answer granted, but at least if you tell us if it worked or not we can suggest other possible solutions and thus reslove your problem! :)

The Disable Fast Shutdown was checked so I unchecked it but it still won't shutdown.

See if you can download the shutdown update from the Microsoft Website...they have a fix for that. It's a problem with the advanced power management.
