I am seeing lots of Job descriptions requesting 2012 knowledge or at least an interest in using it. Unlike Windows 8 most of your 2012 day is in server manager or powershell. 'Metro' can basically be ignored. The Dedup alone is worth the upgrade for several companies.

Server 2012 has some really cool features over 2008 R2, and metro is almost totally ignored. Hell, you can do a completely GUIless install if you want to do everything via powershell.

From what i've seen it looks very good, esp. in virtualization, so we'll probably start using it once we get some new hardware.

Hyper-V is one of the big reasons I am using it. Otherwise, most of our stuff is 08R2.

Chances are, it won't be shunned as much as Win8.

I got a complementary license via dreamspark. I think it is a pretty cool server OS. I still think about replacing the ubuntu I was using before but I have dug in and found ways to make it do everything I want. Hyper-V integrates nicely, (ie pauses VMs while the host reboots).
The firewall could use some help from a usability perspective IMO, but it works. I still do miss using configuration files with all of the options to configura a service, instead of a bunch of wizards and management consoles, which tend to make stuff harder to find. It is a damn fine OS if you learn to use it.

I don't see the huge deal about metro and everybody freaking out that it isn't like thier old OS causing thier aspbergers to flare up or something. Just deal with it.

Getting ready to roll out a 3 node HA hyper-v cluster with 2012.

I think MSFT is feeling the heat of competition which of course is a good thing.

Unfortunately they are now sort of rushing out half-baked goods.

But all in all Server 2012 seems fairly solid. At least NIC teaming is supported for hyper-v (however I think the vendors handle it better with their solutions).

Nice! how did you set up the cluster if I may ask?
did they make it relatively straightforward?

I'm sure this doesn't matter to most people, but one thing I like about Server 2012 is that AES New Instructions (on-chip encryption/decryption) are now available in Hyper-V, to both the host OS and VMs. In Server 2008 R2 even the Host OS cannot make use of AES.
