Windows Server 2003 Hard disk boot up

I have got a Hard disk with windows server 2003, which was installed on Intel based Motherboard with onboard graphics card. Now I have got a AMD Athlon 64 Based system with onboard ATI graphics card. I connected the above said Hard Disk to the AMD Based system, It's not booting up, I thought its the problem with Graphics Card. I bought a new Nvidia GeForce 5200 Graphics card So that I can put that in the old system and load drivers in to the Hard disk , so that it can work with the new system.


Can you please tell me how it works and How i Should I go about it.

You can seldom transfer Windows XP from one machine to another unless they are very similar and use the same chipset and all of the motherboard's resources are allocated the same way.

Your best bet is to do a fresh installation, preferably on another hard drive, and once it's up and running, connect your old drive as a slave to transfer your files.

Before you go any further, reconnect your drive to your old motherboard. If you're lucky, your data is still intact, and your drive will still boot to it. If so, you'll be able to export your address book, bookmarks, etc. from your old setup to your new one. If your drive no longer boots to your old board, you may still be able to read your files and transfer the info to your new drive.

Tell me this

If I have Windows 2003 Server CD and I connect the hard disk with 2003 server put that in and boot with the CD , after booting I will load the drivers
