If he sold you real CDs what's the matter with activation? There's no legal way around it.

Activate it. It's yours. Unless you are worried that your "buddy" is still running an illegal copy...in that case you're dealing with straight up Piracy.

You won't find any help in this forum bypassing Windows Product activation. It's against the law.

Short answer: no.

Longer answer: stop pirating software.

Even longer answer: talking about topics like this will get you banned from the forums.

I don't think any of us care how much you paid (or didn't) for your software. We care only if you try to use it illegally. Which you are attempting/asking for our help attempting. Which amounts to piracy.

Period.

Actually I don't think many people here would care about that. There's a handfull that like to run Win2K3 as a workstation but luckily they're rare, most people realize that turning Win2K3 into a workstation is pointless because you just end up back at XP. I'm sure some people would like to use it as a home server, eh to each his own I guess, but I find it overpriced and really annoying. Give me Debian any day.

But you got your activation answers, so I hope this thread gets locked soon.

im not a novice at unix.. but im takin unix 1 this quarter, its mainly the file structure and command line interface.. and messing with the shells.. and a little of telnet procedures.. i like it and for the small business that doesnt want to pay $4000 for windows based servers unix is ideal.. i actually host my person website (www.tizite.com) and a memorial for my past away cousin(www.tylerstone.net).. i just run it off 1 server in my apartment off of a broadband connection.. right now i use yahoo DNS services, which i want to get another server running and setup a DNS to take care of that as well as 2 http servers, one IIS and the other apache on a redhat machine and use the linux as a backup and run both off of a RAID SCSI file server with redhat and samba..the 2 http servers will be kinda pointless considering both servers will pull from 1 file server, but it gives me something to do and learn at the same time..

any help with this project let me know.. i also will be in the process of setting up a cisco router to it all..

I got a free copy of 2k3 in a magazine. It's only 180 day trial, but I figure that would be enough to evaluate it. So I'm guessing it's pretty common for people to have a copy of it.

Actually I don't care about piracy, I'm a sysadmin, not a cop.
And I don't use Windows much either for that matter.

Either way, you're asking to bypass WPA. Not allowed.
