Windows Serial Number

I run Windows 98 SE and I was wondering if there was anywhere on my computer I could find what the serial number for the CD was(the one you use when installing Windows).

Just open up the Registry Editor (REGEDIT) and go to the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Look for the Product Key and you found it.

Open "regedit.exe" and go to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

The string name is "ProductKey". The value is what you are looking for.
