What is going on!!

I installed a modem in my linux OS, and then I did a restart option in Linux, now whenever I log into windows it keep restarting by itself!!

What should I do? Thanks for any inputs

I've narrowed down to 3 possibilities:

1. Linux somehow caused windows to restart, because previously when Linux was on it didn't do this, but I might've tripped something to cause this.
2. Windows itself is screwed, in this case it's easy because i can just reinstall it, no biggie.
3. The motherboard cuased windows to restart, which in this case im fvcked.

Also, I notice that windows always restart at the login screen after the floppy drive spins.

Well, have you recently added any hardware? How do your voltages look in the bios? Sometimes, you can have just enough power to run what you have, then adding anything will cause unexplained restarts, because the power supply doesn't have enough power to boot. Also, have you considered buying a harddrive switch? They only cost about $20, and you can run Windows on one drive, and Linux on the other. That way, neither OS has anything to do with the other's operation, ever. I have one. It's pretty cool, because you still have access to the other drive, even though you didn't use it to boot. As a matter of fact, newegg.com has them for $14.99.

Recently I added a modem, but it's external so it shouldn't draw power from the PS

today I reset the BIOs and it's still doing it, narrowing down to Linux prob or Windows probl
