My copy of windows is going nuts deciding it's 3am when it's 9am. It's like a watch losing time. Is this a bug or is the battery on the motherboard dying?

PS. There *is* a battery on the motherboard that keeps time, right?

depends. What version of Windows are you using? If the time zone is set wrong in XP, it will display the wrong time. If the battery on the mobo was bad it would reset the time evertime you turned your computer off.

Yes, yes, there is. I wouldn't be surprised if the battery were dying.

This should be TS.

if the batt was the problem, it seems suspicious that it would have the right minute but wrong hour.

It's windows ME (i know, I know) and the minutes go crazy too.

Thing is, i bought the thing about 2 weeks ago, the battery shouldn't be dying already.

If it is the battery, how can I get a replacement?

No way in hell a 2 week old battery should be bad.
