Windows Registry

Just curious 😉
Is there any way to decode the Reg_Binary values in Windows 98,2k,etc?
I'm wondering if it is possible to take the string for something, say an SMTP password, and convert it into plain text?
Any useful reading, hints, tips would be appreciated.

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do, but if you're trying to recover a password there's a nifty little program that works for passwords that you can see as asteriks, but can't remember or find as regular text. In general, I'm not sure. You'd have to know how to convert from the binary in the registry to alphanumeric.
