Windows Registry Checker - Hardware Problem?

I am struggling with an Iwill KK-266R. I have done approximately 30 installs of Win 98SE since Monday. I have solved most of the problems (most by abandoning SB Live) but continue to have a corrupt registry according to the Windows Registry Checker. I can run Norton Utilities and have it detect "no problems" and then have a corrupt registry when I reboot. I am running the most current version of the Iwill Bios (4-16) and the most current Via Chipset Drivers (4.29). I am running "Georges PCI Latency Patch v 1.4" and the most recent drivers for the on-board sound. Is this a hardware issue with my system or an incorrect error being reported by the Registry checker?

This is my system (in Fong Kai 302 with 300 watt approved PS)

Where's MasterTech and his "See what you get for buying AMD? Intel systems NEVER fail and ALWAYS work w/ NO issues of any kind" comment?

We're waiting ...

double check the multiplier/fsb/VOLTAGE settings. in my experience, when i used win98 (and winME did it too) and overclocked a bit too far or didn't raise the voltage enough that was the first sign of instability. i would tend to trust norton. basically, make sure you are not accidentally overclocking (not likely but i figured i'd mention it) and make sure the voltage is set right (it's a possibility and it would result in the registry error on startup). if this is the problem, i'm sorry but i don't know the default voltage of the 1.3 (but my guess would be 1.75 volts)

I chased a similar problem in a Pentium system for several days. Ended up being the memory.
