Windows reading HD backwards

my windows is reading the HD with my OS installed as Disk 2 while my storage HD is being read as Disk 1

any way to fix that? it still boots up fine but some applications/installs have a problem with it

i have my OS HD plugged to SATA2 while Storage HD is in SATA3

in ur bios there should be a setting for primary HD and secondary and so forth put ur os HD as primary for boot order and that may fix it it may not

HOw about moving the OS hdd to SATA 1? If not try going to Disk Management and see if you can change the hdd designation.

Hi, With standard old style IDE cable the drive plugged master is C: and the Slave is D:.
If your cable has color coded connectors it's Cable Select (CS). Blue to the MB, Black to the Master and gray to the Slave. Master on black will be C:. Both are to be jumpered CS.
Good Luck, Jim
