Windows (Parallels) Program on Mac Dock?

Can you put a Windows program on the Mac Dock?

If so, how?

(BTW, I am using Parallels 3.0.)

Yes. I know in VMWare it is a feature called Unity.

I am going to start by guessing that you have consulted the Help documentation.

Barring that, can you copy the shortcut from Windows, to a folder in OS X, and then put that on the Dock? Since you have Parallels installed, OS X should, in theory, be able to recognize it as a Windows shortcut and won't give you any fuss.

Ok, that idea doesn't work in VMWare.

In VMWare, you go into Unity mode and launch the program in Windows. This puts it on your Dock. Then, you can right click on that icon and say 'Keep in Dock'.

In Parallels I believe the feature is called Coherence, so maybe play around with that.

This is from Windows 7 running in VMWare

I opened up Paint, ran Unity, and then told the icon to stay in the dock. I click the icon, and then go cure cancer since it takes like 5 minutes to boot my Win 7 VM (relatively slow system, launching an unsupported Beta OS). If it wasn't for the fact that VMWare makes me type in my password everytime I launch the VM, it would be a one click operation for me.

I figured out how to do just about the same thing.

I have Parallels in my dock, so putting this program on the dock saves me having to click on it once I get Windows running. (I guess it also saves me clicking in Parallels to start Windows.)

I will try it again for a while and see if I it feels like a good solution. This is for the only Windows program I have to run on this machine.
