Does anyone trust Microsoft to provide virus/malware protection? I just read a preview (below) of their lattest attempt to kill the catogory of software companies that they created.

Windows OneCare Preview

After using microsoft's antispyware tool (which they bought and rebadged of course) this looks pretty disappointing. While the guy that wrote the review seems like a rabid M$ fan, it looks to me like they just hacked together sceduler and the anti-virus company they bought.
Anyone else played with the onecare beta?

Give me a break. PinkPalace's icon is an apple and is trashing what he calls a "rabid M$ fan," when he clearly is just a rabid mac fan. Go home!

It was recently announced that most of the editions of next year?s Windows Vista will include some form of anti-virus, anti-spam, and anti-spyware technology ? including the budget priced Home Basic Edition.

Oh boy.

It seems like it is more like all of the Windows maintanence utilities under one roof - spyware, viruses (new), backups, tune-ups (new), disk defrag, etc.
