windows not seeing boot device

This just started last week, boots normal, raid drives functioning screen good, then I get a message saying install boot device or floppy and hit any key. I found reinstalling the raid drivers when f6 promted and then rebooting allows windows to load and everthing seams to run ok untill next boot😕 any ideas? next question i grabed a new external usb2 hard drive to use as a back-up unit man is it slow, how long should it take to copy 70 gigs?
