Windows Movie Maker problem

The problem is simple...I choose where I want to save my movie to (hard drive), but instead of saving to my hard drive it starts saving to recordable CD. "Saving Movie. Your movie is being created and saved to a recordable CD. 32690891 Minutes Remaining"

That's WAY too long. How do I fix this? I tried system restore, but it's not working either.

This may seem like a silly question, but I have to ask the obvious first..

When saving the video file, did you select the option "My Computer" or "Recordable CD"? Windows Movie Maker doesn't even show my CD/DVD burner as a possible destination if I select the "My Computer" option, but it immediately goes to the screen that you described if I select the "Recordable CD" option.

I choose save to my computer always always always, but recently, it gos to "Saving Movie. Your movie is being created and saved to a recordable CD. 32690891 Minutes Remaining"

It's a bad XP installation/hard drive. This morning, I lost the shortcut to Calculator, Paint and notepad and the good Lord only knows what else. Got a new HDD coming, and have ordered Vista as well.
