Windows Messenger Auto Sign In

Hi Guys,

As this is really getting me annoyed.. the windows messenger would just auto sign in for me even though i had disabled it.

Under MSCONFIG, I don't see a "msmgr" application.
How should I disable auto log in?

The best thing you can do is uninstall Messenger.

You can also go into msconfig and have it so that the app doesn't load on start up

You can sort of uninstall Windows Messenger, but it's a pain. There are some pages out there that discuss how to do it. The page I linked in my original reply will show you how to use the settings in Outlook 2003 to disable auto-login of Messenger when Outlook starts. If you're using Outlook Express the option is easier to find: its in Tools | Options, Other tab, bottom of General section.

It's not that hard to get rid of. A lot depends on what you are running as to which fix to use:
