Sorry for posting this here. I need an answer in the next 5 mins, b/c I have to make a presentation.

Is there any way to keep WMP 9 from popping up those control bars after its done playing a video in full screen mode?
I want it to just stay black after it's done.
 
Just a guess:

Under "view" and "Full mode options" try switching it from "auto hide menu bar" to "hide menu bar".

Edit: I'm wrong.
 
probably too late now...

i don't think you can do that anyway. try using quicktime to play the video, and use "present movie" option.
 
if its avi, use the divx player to play full screen (although I think it may just quit out of full screen)

or just use ffdshow and play it in full screen with that. =/
