Windows Media Player Help

I just reformatted my computer reinstalled a version of eXperience Windows Xp Pro and my windows media player (v.10.0) is now playing in black and white. I have looked for different settings and options and it still runs my divx movies in B&W.

one strange thing I noticed is when WMP runs in a browser it runs in color just fine. Here is a picture to help show what I am talking about.

So I guess some videos play in partial color .. im even more confused now.

not really a fix, maybe more of a workaround. try this:

tools-->options-->performance-->advanced-->UNcheck "Use high quality modes"

you know what's weird though? i mentioned the same fix to someone else who had the same black and white playback problem and he had to actually put the check-mark in for the same setting to fix it 😕
