Windows Media Player 9

OK, I have been using this for the past few weeks and it seems to be quite a bit better that Win-AMP.
Is there anybody here that has used them both and does NOT like WMP-9 better?

I use it, though some of my movies that would play just fine in 7, for some reason can't play in 9 😕

I like Winamp the best.. 2.81 also.

Plus I don't need visual crpa when I LISTEN to music. I play it and send it to the systray and go on with whatever I'm doing

does WMP9 still have that license agreement stuff that people were making a fuss over that let them install whatever they want on your computer down the road if they wanted to?

Just a minor issue with WMP9...when I'm streaming media I can't see the progress meter of the download. Usually I like to pause it for a while to build up a buffer so it doesn't keep stopping and rebuffering, but here I can't gauge when I can hit play like in WMP8 and below. Any tweaks to fix this? Thx

MP9 sounds really muffled to me. The combo I posted above sounds much crisper to me. I do have the full WMP9 too, not the beta.

Maybe it's just me.

And make sure you have the Full WMP9 not the beta or early one.

Why do you prefer it?

Makes the music sound better, i don't need to have a plug in to listen to XYZ etc...

I downloaded WMP9 for a friend of mine when it was out of beta and he uninstalled Winamp the next day. And that was before he even knew how to use most of the features of it.

And then the video is a whole nother thing I like, etc...

Sorry but I go with whats best, even if its Microsoft.

I heard that in WMP9 that it keeps track of what you play and sends it to Microsoft....Something to do with an agreement between them and the RIAA.

Hearsay I know, but I trust my source. He's a huge Microsoft lover of all things. He got rid of WMP9 within a day.

When you install WMP9 it ask you if it can do that. If you are dumb enough to NOT read the text, well then to bad. I have a TON of downloaded MP3's and still play them today on WMP9 with no problems.

Instead of relying on others, you should read the EULA. Then you can educated people.

it actually does track files you play i think.. cuz spybot can delete that file for you. so what if they know what i play?

can someone tell me how to get WMP9 to stop stealing file associations? i've tried changing the file associations within Windows and WMP, but it keeps stealing them. i like WMP9 for music, but i'd rather use WMP6.4 for AVI's. anyone?
