Windows Media Player 9 Problems

After installing this it seemed to work fine initially, but after I rebooted it doesn't start...I was getting an error message "Internal Application Error", but reinstalling it did no good, and it can't be removed, apparently. Installing an older version over it also does not work...does anybody have any suggestions other than reinstalling the OS???
I know I deserve a kick in the butt for installing this, but nevertheless I would like to get it working.

If you are using Win9x or Win2k, using the Add/Remove Programs
should remove it totally.

If you are using WinME or XP, you are not so fortunate.
If you didn't try a System Restore before installing the older version
I think you may be out of luck.

The System Restore was on, but it didn't work. When I try to start the applet, its blank. I'm not sure what the issue is here. I may have to do a repair installation or something.

Try a repair installation from the winxp cd.

BTW, you are truely hosed. Mediaplayer 9 can't be uninstalled. Should have manually made a restore point. :Q

I did make a restore point, but its not there now. Something weird is definitely going on. I may have to reinstall the whole system. This is the first real issue I've had with XP.
