You don't have to uninstall it, but you can use 6.4 by pointing a shortcut to C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\MPLAYER2.EXE

There is a new update posted on WindowsMedia.com . . . it leaves you with version 7.00.00.1958. Works great! The more I use it, the better it gets.

And yes, you can run it and 6.4 on the same machine. Just make 6.4 the default if you like.

Or you can just swap the names of the 6.4 mplayer2.exe and 7.0 ???.exe files.
