did they upgrade the WMA format while they were at it? is the WMA format improved?

Not sure to be honest. What was it that was particularly poor about the WMA format previously? 🙂

The first thing I noticed after running WMP10 is how it is eerily similar to iTunes.

I read somewhere that they were planning to blow away all the services like iTunes with WMP10... are they just copying instead? 😀

Oh well, instead of asking questions I guess I should just see for myself! Time to download!

(Hopefully this final isn't as buggy as the SP2 final....)

good artists copy, great artists steal

WMP10 is awesome. I used it for 2 days now. Been ripping CDs with it. Cant get any easier. Pop CD in and it starts ripping immediately, after it's done (2-3 minutes per cd), CD pops out. I use WMA 160kbps compression rate. I read that WMA is better than MP3 at 192kbps or lower .

I find it slightly annoying that one of the buttons on my installation of WMP10 is a red X, like a corrupted image in IE. I tried reinstalling it to no avail.

I`ve just installed WMP10 and its a lot better then WMP9 IMHO,interface looks nicer, just did a registry defrag since there was lots of old microsoft files left behind after the upgrade,no problems so far 🙂.

Yes, your ears will tell you that. There are also formats better than wma (but which wmp doesn't support).

No. Microsoft has never copied Macintosh. In any way.

I just installed WMP10, and I think there's a problem post-install.

Check out the red "x-box" in the upper right-hand corner: PIC.

I have it too. I think everyone does.

Download the Energy Bliss Visualisation. I quite like this one..
I downloaded the Energy Bliss, and ya, it's nice, but it brings my computer to it's knees! It looks great as long as I don't move the mouse, but once I start trying to scroll through my songs and whatnot, everything bogs down. Especially when I hover over a song to see the details. My system specs are in my sig, and I see no reason why I can't run some clouds floating across the sky!

Where did you find that visualization? I'm trying to look for it myself...

Edit: I'm an idiot, ignore this post - I found it. 😛

i like the new one, yeah. it seems a bit crowded with the music store crap and whatnot. take all that out and i'd be one happy camper.

edit: oooo...wow, less ram usage. equal to winamp when playing music, but 1% more usage than winamp, lol.
