I am doing some web compatibility testing, and one of the OS's called for is Windows ME. The problem is, on a fresh VM, I can get to google, but not to any ms site. Not windows updates, not www.microsoft.com, no msn.com

any ideas? I need to patch and get IE6

vmware (the free server version)

note that all other VM's (XP Pro, 2kPro) are working fine.

+1 for worthless posting skill....

I'm not asking about the merits of ME, I know it's craptastic. The problem is, we are doing a web page compatibility with a variety of OS/Browser combo's....ME is the worst of the lot, but it's on the list.

Got an old PC laying around you can throw ME on for real? Probably faster than trying to get it working through VMWare.

Why not use Win98? It works with IE6 too.
