Don't even bother with a WinME upgrade. Its a waste of money. Get Win2K, and most of your problems should disapear.

There is a problem if you try to upgrade win 98 with ME. The advice given above is correct and format and do a clean install.
As far as for Win2K..When I installed it Win2K recognized almost none of my hardware. Win ME installed everything with the correct drivers except for the sound card.
