The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Ages, called the Third Age by some, and Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose... The wind was not the beginning. The are neither beginnings nore endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.

No prob RSI.

All I gotta say is, I'm sticking with 98 (1st edi) for now. There's no need to upgrade for now. I rather use my $189 on something more viable at the moment, like a new cpu (cuz i got p2 350 and a geforce2--its like putting a rocket in a soda can).

I'm one of the likers of ME. It just seems more "snappy" than 98 IMO. I get the exact same performance in games, and the improved TCP stack made my downloads a lot more consistent. That is what I wanted from Win2k in 98, and boom there it is. So dualbooting ME for games, general surfing, etc., and Win2k for programming, webmastering, graphic editing, long hours of hard work, works out perfectly.

BTW I just had to add the link for the IE 5.5 update for you guys: here it is. :)

I had it pre-ordered and then canceled it last night. I had some things that wouldn't run under Windows 2000. Guess what, I found out they wouldn't run under Windows ME also. I'm just going to bite it and buy a new printer. I already have a copy of Windows 2000 pro, so I'm set. I was using the old Fax program off the Windows 95 disk, but Windows 2000 has it built in again. And Wind Me won't run it anymore. Oh well, time to donate more equipment to the school district.

Well, WinMe is designed to phase out old technology.

For people enjoyment, get everything in USB that you can except modems, and sound, and ethernet. Or things that come in PCI.

I've turned off System Restore (even turned it back on so I could turn it off again)... but I still can't delete those blasted _RESTORE directories.

Overall, I also am not happy with the change from 98se to WinBE (Bluescreen Edition). But it's too much of a hassle to go back right now, so I'll try & tweak it to my liking.

Boot to a dos floppy and "deltree _restore" and it should work. I don't know if it will recreate them with System Restore disabled.

But since SR is disabled I don't worry about them.

I am about 2/3 of the way done with book 8 (Path of Daggers)

Why run W2K at home if its designed for business use? Atleast thats my understanding. And everyone wanted what W2K had to offfer for business hence the creation of WinME but again from what I read and heard from other sources it was rushed out to the public before its time

I can quote it from memory too, but only because i have a vidid memory of that being recited when playing WoT the game.

Unfortunatly, i've only read the first book :( (not enough time on my hands)
