Windows ME Final Version Number?

Im running ME on my laptop and when I go into WCPUID it says that my version of windows is
Windows Me Version 4.90.3000
is this the final version of WinME? or do I have a beta/RC installed?

Yes, 3000 is the final build of WinME.

actually version 3000.2 is final. did you clean install or install over previous version?

I installed over a previous version of Win98 (1st)

I think 3000.2 is the OEM version, and 3000 the retail, or is the other way round

If you have the version that is 3000.2 you have a Microsoft internal copy....in other words, pirated. 3000 is the RTM version, 3000.2 is NOT OEM.

3000.2 is the internal copy that went gold to the oem.

Someone told me 4.90.3333 was to be retail. But I dont really know.

My complimentary CD entitled "Technical Beta Special Edition" has version 4.90.3000.
