Windows MCE and DirecTV

Ok, so my roommates decided to upgrade us to DirecTV. The problem is that the guy is coming over later today to install the cable box, and I just realized that I have no idea how to hook it up, or if it's even possible to hook it up to my MCE computer.

We've been running Windows 7 MCE with a Hauppage dual tuner to timeshift and all that good stuff. I was looking around online to see whether or not this would be possible and I'm finding a lot of conflicting articles.

I know that I can't do it in HD, which is fine, I can live without the HD. But, based on what I'm reading, I won't be able to use MCE's scheduled recording options and stuff. Is that true?

How can I hook it up, and what should I expect?

Thanks,

not sure if this is what you are looking for but if you have the dtv box hooked to ethernet, you can schedule stuff online thru dtv's website..

EDIT: I even do it with my blackberry..

Alright, but I can't use the MCE interface for it? I already have a really nice system setup, and it seems silly to have to bounce between my system and the DTV box.

You would need a video capture card that has composite/svid/component in to hook your box up, then use an IR flasher to change the channels via MCE. Or you could get a HAVA box that would allow the tuner to reside on your network so that any computer could use it as an MCE tuner.
