Windows Losing Time

Hey, before i start, just letting everyone know I have done a search on this topic. no help found.

My computer is losing time in Windows 98, but in the BIOS it still has the correct time. It is off by several minutes a day.
The M\B is unknown at this time, AMD 350 processor {work computer}.

you could try renewing your m/board battery!

i have found that in some network systems the server will set the time on every workstation when you log on. It may be that the server has a problem with its battery, ot the time is set incorrectly.

There is a documented error listed on MS's website about NT4 servers losing time, you may want to check that out, is your network using NT4? SP6a?

Windows only checks the bios time on bootup...see if it is correct after a boot up, vs. what windows said previously...if it is correct after reboot, OS problem...if not, then I'd just replace the cmos battery

I had that problem in WIn98 too. I think there are utilities to keep the time for you.
