Hay guys, About a month ago my computer started to lock-up almost right after start-up. I had all up-to-date drivers and windows updates. To make a long story short I had to reinstall everything (reformated hard drive). This time I didn't update windows, the only new driver i have is the nvidia display driver (I tried an older Nvidia driver from Nvidia also). Well it is still locking up without any kind of error message.

Could I have a Memory stick going bad?

All devices under device manager are saying ok.

Any thoughts?

Windows XP
Shuttle Space Walker AKG35GT2
Athlon 2200
Maxtor 30g 7200rpm
Crucial 2700 333mhz
Nvidia TI4200 Crucial

That is my first suspect. Check with memtest or try replacing it with a known-good stick. Power supply could also be a problem, as cana bad memory slot on the motherboard. And, welcome to the forums.

Thanks for the welcome note. I'm running the memory test now, so far there are no errors. I have a 350 watt power supply, could my system be underpowered?

To save money I purchased a generic power supply, I'm starting to think I shouldn't have been a cheep-ass.
