Nothing really special to say, i just thought it would be nice to have a thread for this great application. Yes, its better then Google Maps, anyone want to debate me on that? :D props, m$, you guys f'n rule once and awhile.

hot linkage, might as well since im promoting this stuff-

and yeah, surely there will be those that want to bash me for saying im a ms fanboy... well im not. no affiliation whatsoever. why i like microsoft? because i buy things from them for a fair price and i get excellent products in return. simple as that, id be a sony fanboy if their stuff wasnt garbage.... or an apple fanboy if they didnt rape their customers.

Agreed, love Live search, the voice recognition is sweet. Wish it had a locate me feature like Google Maps now has though.

I don't know if one is actually better than the other one. Since both MS and Google map powered by Navteq (currently owned by Nokia)

If you meant better UI, then it is matter of "getting used to". If you meant competibility, then I would think Google map plus is better, since 3 out of 4 top brand GPS manufacture has direct support w/ google map. (UL/ DL POI, Route and planning etc)

If you own Mobile 5 application GPS-enable phone, you can also download Smart2Go for free and download global map/ specific country and instant POI update via local cell-data service.

no way man, its ui, features, and it works always. google maps is still buggy. on windows live it automatically asks if your lost when you go off route, and gives you the option to reroute with one click. and 411 directory is totally built in, with voice recognition that is excellent. i just say "pizza" and it finds the nearest and all pizza shops within 20mi or so. once you find what you want, you can choose to call, map it out or get directions from gps location all right on that one page. and zooming is better in windows live maps, overall its just been a gem in the rough that is my q9c

i do find Live Search to be better than google maps mobile as well.

However, i have one issue with Live Search - i can't just switch to the home screen and go to another program, like, i dunno...task manager. WLS seems to be hogging up some resource somewhere. i have to remember to manually use the 'exit' in the WLS program (thank god they included that).

q9c as well.

... well in my q9c it seems to do that with any program... instant messaging makes my phone stuggle. i think mine is defective though,.. it was resetting by itself last night, and now it doesnt stay connected to the internet.

I refer Yahoo map because of the built in GPS in my Q9C. MS Map would not work for me for some reason (GPS).

you have to set the GPS to 'intermediate driver" in the windows live search setting page. internal gps works fantastic with live search and my q9c

One does work better than the other. I had Google maps mobile send me to a non existant address 3 times. When I tried Live Search, I punched in all 3, and it was able to properly place all of them.
